Maya Visa Wallet Cards Now Support Google Pay in the Philippines

Visa and Maya have expanded Google Wallet and Google Pay support to Maya Visa wallet cards in the Philippines, allowing users to make contactless payments using compatible Android phones and devices.

The rollout means Google Pay is now available across Maya’s Visa card lineup, including both credit and wallet cards. Maya wallet cardholders can now use their cards through Google Pay at participating shops, public transport, and tourist destinations.

Why it matters: The expansion gives more Maya users a way to pay without physically presenting their cards, while also supporting the wider shift toward contactless and digital payments in the Philippines.

The details: Maya previously introduced Google Wallet and Google Pay support for its credit cardholders in November 2025, making it one of the first issuers in the Philippines to launch the technology. The latest rollout extends the same capability to Maya Visa wallet cards.

Users can add their eligible Maya Visa wallet cards to Google Wallet and use Google Pay for contactless transactions where supported. This provides another payment option for everyday purchases and travel.

Google Pay transactions are enabled through Visa’s tokenization technology. Instead of sharing or storing the actual card number, the system uses unique digital tokens for payments. This helps protect the cardholder’s real account information and can reduce the risk of fraud.

For Filipinos: The expansion also gives Maya wallet users more flexibility when shopping, commuting, and visiting tourist destinations. It comes as mobile and smart-device payments continue to gain traction across Asia Pacific.

Visa says more than 71% of consumers in the region prefer using mobile or smart devices for in-store or online payments. Its research also found that 97% of travelers in the region want to use credit, debit, or prepaid cards when traveling, while only 17% intend to bring cash.

What’s next: With Google Pay now extended to Maya Visa wallet cards, Maya users have another way to make secure contactless payments using devices they already carry. The move also supports the broader adoption of digital payments as the Philippines continues its shift toward a cash-lite economy.
