Huawei‘s newest smartphone, the Nova 7i, is launching in February, according to sources.
A SoyaCincau post tells us more: it is said to arrive in Malaysia next month, the first country to get it outside of China. Sources also mention that the new Nova is a re-brand of the Chinese Nova 6 SE that’s been available since December last year.
The Nova 7i features a 6.4-inch tall display with a punch-hole 16-selfie camera placement similar to earlier devices such as the Nova 4 and 5T. A HiSilicon Kirin 810 chip powers the phone, along with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage.
Huawei Nova 7i key specs:
- 6.4 inch LTPS IPS LCD display, 1080 x 2310 px
- 2.7GHz octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 810
Mali-G52 MP6 - 8GB RAM

expandable storage via nano memory up to 256GB (uses SIM 2 slot) - Quad rear cameras:

8 MP, f/2.4 ultrawide
2 MP, f/2.4 macro
2 MP, f/2.4 depth of field - 16MP front camera (punch-hole)

- USB Type-C

- 4200mAh battery w/ 40W Fast charging
There’s also a quad rear camera setup at the back led by a 48-megapixel snapper. The other lenses are dedicated for ultrawide, macro, and depth of field shots. Similar to the Y9s, the fingerprint scanner is side-mounted, and sports a 4200mAh battery with 40W fast charging to boot.
This is also one of the first mid-range devices from Huawei to sport their proprietary nano memory chip, supporting up to 256GB. Too bad, the expanded storage will have to share spaces with the phone’s second SIM slot.
The new Huawei Nova 7i will launch in Malaysia this February 14.
