Samsung has gone back to making entry-level phones with the launch of the Galaxy A01 in Vietnam and soon, the Philippines.

The newest Galaxy phone sports hardware intended for the budget consumers: a 5.7-inch PLS notched display, a Snapdragon 439 chip, 2GB RAM, and 16GB of expandable internal storage.

Samsung Galaxy A01 (Vietnam) specs:

  • 1.95Ghz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439
  • 2GB RAM
  • 16GB internal storage, expandable via microSD up to 512GB
  • 13MP f/2.2 + 2MP f/2.4 dual-rear cameras
  • 5MP f/2.2 front camera
  • WiFi, Bluetooth
  • Dual SIM
  • Samsung OneUI 2 (Android 10)
  • 3000mAh battery

It also features dual rear cameras — one with 13MP at f/2.2 aperture, while the other is a depth lens at 2MP. A 5MP selfie camera completes the package.

The phone is packed with a 3000mAh battery, to which Samsung VN promises a full day’s worth of normal usage. There’s also Android 10 right out of the box with the company’s OneUI 2 on top.

In Vietnam, the Samsung Galaxy A01 will be sold for VDN 2,790,000 (~Php6,100 when converted) and will be available on February 6. NoypiGeeks also noticed the same device page on Samsung’s Philippines website, so we can safely say that its local launch is imminent.
