Epson Highlights Digital Tools to Ease Healthcare Workflows in the Philippines

Epson Philippines is highlighting the role of digital scanning and printing solutions in helping healthcare facilities streamline daily operations, reduce paperwork, and support the shift toward electronic medical records (EMRs).

With healthcare teams handling registration forms, laboratory results, prescriptions, patient records, and other documentation daily, Epson says practical digital tools can help reduce administrative workloads while supporting more efficient patient care.

The standalone scanner features a 4.3-inch touchscreen and scan speeds of up to 45 pages per minute. It can scan patient charts, laboratory sheets, and ID cards directly to network folders or cloud databases without requiring a dedicated computer terminal.

The scanner also includes security authentication for transmitting sensitive patient records.

For doctors: The Epson EcoTank L15160 provides a high-yield printing option for prescriptions, medical certificates, diagnostic requests, and discharge summaries.

The printer can deliver up to 7,500 black pages per ink set and uses water-resistant DURABrite pigment inks designed to keep printed documents sharp and smudge-resistant when exposed to liquids.

On-demand color printing also allows clinics to produce forms internally instead of relying on pre-printed documents from external print shops.

For hospital administrators: Epson WorkForce Enterprise and WorkForce Pro business inkjet copiers use the company’s Heat-Free Technology, which Epson says can consume up to 85% less electricity than traditional laser copiers.

The technology is also designed to reduce the number of replacement parts and simplify supply management. Epson claims business inkjet copiers can cut replacement part waste by up to 59% compared with laser-based systems.

The bigger picture: Epson points to healthcare deployments such as Germany’s Diabetes Clinic Bad Mergentheim as examples of how business inkjet printing can address operational challenges.

According to Epson, replacing laser copiers at the facility eliminated external form printing costs, addressed power surges, and streamlined supply management for a facility serving more than 20,000 patients annually.
