The realme 16 Pro 5G Harry Potter Edition is now part of the realme 16 Pro 5G Series in the Philippines, bringing Hogwarts-inspired design elements, custom software features, and collectible accessories in a limited release. We got all the details below.
Why it matters: Unlike smartphone editions that rely mainly on themed packaging or accessories, the realme 16 Pro 5G Harry Potter Edition carries the Wizarding World theme throughout the device, from its color-changing back design and custom interface to its gift box. Its limited availability also makes it a potential collectible for Harry Potter fans.
The details: The special edition comes in Magic Brown, featuring an Enchanted Texture Leather back with a three-dimensional diamond pattern inspired by the wizard chessboard. At the center is the Hogwarts Four-House Crest, which reveals the colors of Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff when exposed to direct sunlight or UV light.
The effect uses realme’s Quadra Light-Sensing Color-changing Tech. A gold-colored camera decoration inspired by Hedwig, Harry Potter’s loyal owl, frames the rear lenses. Gold accents also run along the phone’s edges, while the words “Welcome to Hogwarts” are laser-engraved on the side.
The Harry Potter theme continues on the display through exclusive wallpapers featuring Hogwarts Castle in two settings: Golden Dawn for daytime and Mystic Dusk for nighttime.
The interface also includes boot-up and fingerprint animations inspired by Hogwarts acceptance letters, alongside more than 30 redesigned app icons. Users can also add photo watermarks inspired by the four Hogwarts houses.
The packaging takes the form of a Harry Potter-inspired trunk, featuring the Hogwarts crest and the realme 16 Pro Harry Potter Edition name on its lid.
Inside, buyers will find a Hogwarts acceptance letter addressed to Mr. Potter, character postcards featuring Harry, Ron, and Hermione, and bookmarks representing all four Hogwarts houses.
The package also includes Hogwarts Crest pins and a ticket inspired by the Hogwarts Express, with its route marked from London to Hogwarts via Platform 9¾.
The bigger picture: Smartphone collaborations with popular entertainment franchises give brands a way to reach fans through products that extend beyond their usual hardware offerings. In this case, realme has incorporated the Harry Potter theme into the phone itself, its interface, and the unboxing experience.
For Filipinos: The realme 16 Pro 5G Harry Potter Edition is priced at PHP 39,999. Fewer than 200 units will be available nationwide, making this a limited release for local buyers.
Hogwarts-inspired store displays will be set up at SM Fairview, SM North EDSA, and SM Calamba. The device will also be available at kiosks in SM Clark, SM Dasmariñas, and SM Megamall.
