Filipino EA SPORTS FC 27 players now have a chance to compete for a spot on the international stage as Red Bull Wings Cup opens its Philippine competition. The new tournament gives everyday players the opportunity to compete for a chance to represent the country at the Red Bull Wings Cup World Finals in Miami, USA, in early 2027.
Taking place across almost 80 countries and held in partnership with EA SPORTS and PlayStation, Red Bull Wings Cup is open to players of different skill levels. Participants can compete either through on-campus qualifiers or online PlayStation Tournaments, depending on the league they enter.
Why it matters: The tournament gives Filipino EA SPORTS FC players a pathway from local competition to an international event, with the eventual National Champions getting the opportunity to compete against players from around the world.
The details: Red Bull Wings Cup has two competition paths in the Philippines: the University League and the Open League.
The University League is open to currently enrolled university students. Players will compete on PlayStation 5 consoles during on-campus qualifiers against other students from Metro Manila and Cebu. The matches will use EA SPORTS FC 27 Rush.
The University League runs from September 28 to October 16, 2026, giving participating students several weeks to compete for a place in the next stage of the tournament.
The Open League, meanwhile, is open to eligible players who want to compete online. Participants can log into PlayStation Tournaments using their PlayStation 5 consoles and play EA SPORTS FC 27 Ultimate Team using their own squad.
The Open League will take place from October 17 to 18, 2026.
Players from both leagues will have the opportunity to advance based on their performance in their respective competitions.
The bigger picture: The top players from the University League and Open League will move on to the Philippine National Finals on November 7, 2026, at Matchpoint Sportsbar.
The National Finals will determine the eligible National Champions who will represent the Philippines at the Red Bull Wings Cup World Finals.
The global event is scheduled to take place at Inter Miami’s Nu Stadium in Miami, USA, in early 2027. Competitors from participating countries will come together for the inaugural Red Bull Wings Cup World Finals.
The event is expected to combine competitive EA SPORTS FC gameplay with real-life football experiences, with players competing for the title of inaugural Red Bull Wings Cup champion.
Between the lines: Red Bull Wings Cup is designed to be accessible to more than just established esports players. The competition is open to players of all skill levels, giving everyday EA SPORTS FC players a chance to enter the tournament and work their way through the local stages.
The two-league format also gives players different ways to participate. University students can compete through campus-based qualifiers, while other eligible players can enter through the online Open League.
The competition is being held across almost 80 countries, making the Philippine tournament part of a much larger international event.
For Filipinos: Red Bull Wings Cup is open to anyone aged 18 and above who is currently residing in the Philippines, subject to the applicable local terms and conditions.
For university students, the University League provides a campus-based route to the National Finals, with qualifiers taking place in Metro Manila and Cebu.
Players who prefer online competition can instead join the Open League through PlayStation Tournaments. The league will use EA SPORTS FC 27 Ultimate Team, allowing participants to compete using their own squads.
Those who make it through either route will compete for a chance to represent the Philippines in Miami.
What’s next: Registration for the Philippine Red Bull Wings Cup is now open. The University League runs until October 16, followed by the Open League on October 17 and 18. The top players from both competitions will then compete at the National Finals on November 7 at Matchpoint Sportsbar.
The eventual eligible National Champions will earn the opportunity to travel to Miami for the Red Bull Wings Cup World Finals in early 2027.
The Bottom Line: Red Bull Wings Cup gives Filipino EA SPORTS FC 27 players a new route from local competition to the international stage.
With separate University and Open Leagues, players can compete either through campus qualifiers or online PlayStation Tournaments. For those who make it through the National Finals, the prize goes beyond the local title: a chance to represent the Philippines at the inaugural Red Bull Wings Cup World Finals in Miami.
