Samsung Galaxy A27 5G now official, priced in the Philippines

Samsung has introduced the new Galaxy A27 5G in the Philippines, bringing a larger display, upgraded performance, and new AI-powered features to its mid-range smartphone lineup.

Galaxy A27 5G

The new model builds on the Galaxy A26 5G with improvements that focus on everyday use. These include a faster processor, a refreshed display design, a better selfie camera, and expanded AI tools designed to simplify daily tasks.

Why it Matters: AI-powered features are no longer limited to flagship smartphones. With the Galaxy A27 5G, Samsung is bringing more advanced search, editing, and productivity tools to a more affordable segment, while also extending long-term software support for users who plan to keep their devices for several years.

The Galaxy A27 5G features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and animations. Samsung has also switched to an Infinity-O punch-hole display, reducing the space taken up by the front camera while trimming the bezels for a more immersive viewing experience. The device measures 7.8mm thick, making it slimmer and easier to hold.

Powering the smartphone is the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 Mobile Platform, which offers improved responsiveness for multitasking, gaming, and streaming. Samsung says the chipset also delivers better graphics performance and improved power efficiency.

For photography, the Galaxy A27 5G introduces a new 12MP front-facing camera designed to capture more natural-looking selfies with improved brightness and color reproduction across different lighting conditions.

Samsung has also expanded its AI capabilities through what it calls Awesome Intelligence. Circle to Search with Google now supports searching multiple objects within a single image and includes virtual outfit try-on directly from search results. Object Eraser has also been improved to remove unwanted objects more naturally from photos.

The Voice Recorder app now supports simultaneous transcription and translation in 22 languages, making it easier to create multilingual meeting notes and voice recordings.

Users can also choose from multiple AI assistants, including Google Gemini and Perplexity. Samsung has further integrated AI across native Galaxy apps such as Gallery, while Bixby now offers more conversational controls for changing device settings and accessing features using natural language.

Samsung is committing to up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades, along with up to six years of security updates starting from the device’s global launch. The Galaxy A27 5G is also protected by Samsung Knox and Knox Vault for hardware-backed security.
