Smart Communications is making its 5G-powered home internet option more affordable with a limited-time discount on the Smart 5G Max Home WiFi.

Why it Matters: For households that do not have access to fiber internet, 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) can provide another option for getting broadband connectivity at home.
The Smart 5G Max Home WiFi connects to Smart’s 5G network and can deliver speeds of up to 600Mbps. It can also support up to 40 devices, making it suitable for households with multiple phones, laptops, tablets, smart devices, and other connected equipment.
Since it does not require a wired installation, users can set up the router themselves. The setup involves connecting the router, inserting the included Smart SIM, and connecting devices to the network.
The Details: The Smart 5G Max Home WiFi is designed for different types of home use, including working and studying from home, streaming, gaming, and home-based businesses.
The package includes:
- Smart 5G Max Home WiFi Router
- Smart SIM
- 15 days of free unlimited data
- Speeds of up to 600Mbps
- Support for up to 40 devices
After the included 15-day data period, customers can reload with UNLI 1299, which provides unlimited data for all sites and apps for 30 days.
The Bigger Picture: Smart is also seeing continued growth in the number of 5G-capable devices using its network.
As of the end of June 2026, Smart had 12.5 million 5G-capable individual devices on its network, a 30% increase that represented 21% of individual devices.
The company is continuing to expand its 5G network as demand for faster connectivity grows. Smart also received recognition from Ookla for Best Mobile Video Experience in the Philippines for the first half of 2026, recording a Video Score of 72.82.
Smart said 5G FWA is becoming an option for telecommunications providers looking to extend broadband connectivity to areas where traditional fixed-line infrastructure may not yet be available.

Between the Lines: Smart 5G Max Home WiFi essentially brings a mobile 5G connection into a home broadband setup. Instead of waiting for a fiber line to be installed, users can connect through Smart’s 5G network using the dedicated router.
The approach can be particularly relevant in areas where fiber coverage is limited, while the router’s support for up to 40 devices also makes it suitable for homes with several connected users.
For Filipinos: The discounted price makes the Smart 5G Max Home WiFi a lower-cost entry point for households looking for a home internet connection without committing to a traditional wired installation.
The device is available for PHP 2,995 until November 20, 2026, at participating Smart Stores and through the Smart Online Store (Website, Shopee).
