ZTE, a global provider of ICT solutions, received the EcoVadis Gold Medal for its sustainability performance, ranking in the top 2% of companies in the communication equipment manufacturing industry. The EcoVadis assessment covers key areas such as environment, labor and human rights, sustainable procurement, and ethics, with ZTE achieving top rankings in all categories.

Key highlights of ZTE’s EcoVadis recognition:

  • Environment: Ranked in the top 7% for efforts to reduce environmental impact.
  • Labor & Human Rights: Positioned in the top 3%, reflecting fair labor practices.
  • Sustainable Procurement: Placed in the top 3% for responsible sourcing practices.
  • Ethics: Achieved top 3% ranking for transparency and integrity in business operations.

To mark the achievement, EcoVadis will plant a tree on behalf of ZTE in partnership with One Tree Planted.

As a long-time advocate of sustainability, ZTE has released annual sustainability reports for 16 consecutive years and is a member of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and the Global Enabling Sustainability Initiative (GeSI). The company is also the first large-scale ICT firm in China to receive dual target approvals from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and to be included in the CDP A List.

Additionally, ZTE has been part of the FTSE4Good Index Series for nine years and the Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index Series for 13 years. The company also won the “Theme Award” and the “Outstanding ESG Performance of H-Share Companies” award at the 6th BDO ESG Awards 2024.
