Huawei’s newest tablet in the house is the 10.1-inch Huawei MatePad T 10S with a Kirin Chip, 3GB of RAM, and a 5100mAh battery to boot. It’s said to be a great device for productivity without breaking much of the bank. Here’s what it looks like when we unboxed it for the first time.

Huawei Philippines sent us a unit in for review, and it’s quite a no-nonsense package with very straightforward packaging. Similar to how you open their phones, this box’s contents are revealed by sliding the cover upwards.

Revealing its contents, we have just the basics: a USB Type-C data cable, the charging brick, a SIM tray ejector tool, papers for warranty information and documentation, and the tablet itself.

Like the 8-inch MatePad T 8 we got awhile back, this also comes in a DeepSea Blue color, which is quite fitting for its size. This photo certainly doesn’t justify it, but we’ll show you more photos in our upcoming review. At the back, we have the lone 5-megapixel rear camera here, and the Huawei logo at the middle that isn’t that easily seen.

One side of the device is pretty similar to Huawei phones, as it has the SIM and microSD card tray, the 3.5mm audio jack, the loudspeaker grille, and the microphone. The other side also has another loudspeaker grill, offering stereo listening with the device.

The side near the rear camera has the power/lock buttons and the volume keys. They’re located near the corner for better access whether using it on portrait or landscape orientation.

The front has a 10.1-inch display, and it looks great. You’ll notice that this tablet continues the string of 2020 releases that uses Huawei’s own Mobile services core and AppGallery for app downloads, as well as Petal Search for sideloading them.

This Huawei MatePad T 10S retails for PHP 12,999 and will come with freebies worth PHP 5,507 including a Huawei FreeLace Wireless Earphones (worth PHP 3,490), a Huawei MatePad T10s Flipcover (worth PHP 990), 15GB of Huawei Cloud Storage for 1 year (PHP 388), 3 months membership to Huawei Video TVB (Php 540) and one month to Huawei Video Mango TV (PHP 99). We can’t wait to try this one out, so expect a full review from us in the coming days.
