We used the Haylou FlowBuds N50 for several days across different scenarios, including Spotify and YouTube Music streaming, Netflix and YouTube playback, Google Meet and Messenger calls, office work, MRT commuting, and casual mobile gaming. We also tested Hybrid ANC, Transparency Mode, multipoint connectivity, and LDAC on a compatible Android device.

The charging case immediately leaves a good first impression. Instead of the glossy plastic commonly found in this price range, Haylou opted for an aluminum alloy case with a matte finish. It feels more substantial in the hand, resists fingerprints well, and gives the impression that it will hold up better after months of daily use.

The rounded shape slips comfortably into a pocket, while the USB-C port and LED battery and charging indicator around it keep the design clean without sacrificing practicality.

The earbuds themselves are lightweight enough that we rarely felt the need to readjust them during longer listening sessions. Whether sitting through work meetings or walking between train stations, they stayed securely in place without becoming uncomfortable.

The glossy stems do attract fingerprints more easily than the charging case, but this is mostly a cosmetic issue that doesn’t affect everyday use.

Haylou FlowBuds N50 Review: Audio

Rather than chasing an exaggerated sound profile, the FlowBuds N50 opts for balance. Across our playlist that included OPM, pop, acoustic music, podcasts, and movie soundtracks, vocals consistently sounded natural and easy to follow. Instruments remained well separated, making even busy tracks sound organized instead of crowded.

Bass is present but doesn’t dominate the mix. Songs still have enough punch to stay enjoyable, but the low frequencies never overwhelm vocals or finer details. Those who enjoy a heavier bass response may find the tuning slightly restrained, but for everyday listening, the balance works well.

Enabling LDAC on a compatible Android phone added another layer of detail, particularly when streaming higher-quality audio. While the improvement isn’t dramatic for casual listening, it becomes more noticeable on acoustic tracks and instrument-heavy recordings.

Hybrid Adaptive ANC also exceeded expectations during daily commuting. It noticeably reduced the constant hum of air conditioners, electric fans, buses, and train noise, allowing us to enjoy music without immediately reaching for higher volume levels. It doesn’t eliminate conversations nearby, but it creates a quieter listening environment where it matters most.

Call quality proved equally dependable. During voice and video calls, voices came through clearly, while surrounding office noise was reduced enough that the person on the other end never asked us to repeat ourselves. Outdoor performance also remained respectable, with wind noise kept under control during short walks.

The FlowBuds N50 performed reliably throughout our testing period. Bluetooth 6.0 maintained a stable connection whether paired with a smartphone, tablet, or laptop. We experienced no unexpected disconnections during several days of use.

Multipoint connectivity quickly became one of our favorite features. Being connected to both a laptop and smartphone meant switching from a work meeting to answering a phone call happened seamlessly, without manually reconnecting the earbuds each time.

Wear detection also responded consistently, pausing playback whenever an earbud was removed before resuming once it was worn again.

The Haylou Sound app remains simple but useful, providing access to firmware updates, EQ adjustments, ANC controls, and LDAC activation without unnecessary complexity.

Battery life easily supported our daily routine. Using the earbuds throughout the workday for music, meetings, and occasional videos left enough battery for the commute home before needing to return them to the charging case. The advertised 32-hour combined battery life feels realistic under mixed usage.

As expected, enabling both LDAC and maximum ANC reduced battery life faster, but not enough to become inconvenient during normal daily use.

USB-C charging keeps recharging straightforwardly, while the LED indicator provides a quick visual reference for the remaining battery.
