The new Lenovo LEGION Phone Duel 2 is now in the Philippines. The second iteration of Lenovo’s gaming-centric smartphone boasts improved features from its predecessor such as a new Twin Turbo-Fan Cooling system and Octa-Trigger Controls for gaming.
The smartphone has a large 6.92-inch AMOLED HDR 10+ display and features a 144Hz refresh rate and 720Hz touch sampling rate which Lenovo claims is the most responsive display in the Philippine market today. AI-powered Pixelworks i6 Processor provides vivid and richer colors as well as sharper detail in gaming and consuming multimedia content. It also adds features such as AI Display Processing, Always-on HDR, AI-Picture Quality Engine, Auto Adaptive Display, Skin Tone Accuracy, and Dark Noise Suppression. The screen is also TÜV Rheinland-certified which ensures the user’s eyes are protected and free from visual fatigue.
It boasts the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G processor paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. The Snapdragon X60 5G Modem is also integrated and provides a fast 5G connection over sub-6GHz and mmWave. Dual 5G SIM connectivity is supported as well as a smart switch to WiFi if the 5G connection gets interrupted.
It also incorporates a second-generation Advanced Technology Architecture (ATA 2.0) for intelligent cooling that consists of the integrated vapor chamber and Twin Turbo-Fan resulting in one complete thermal system. With this design, the CPU is placed in the middle and keeps the user’s hands away from any heat dissipation when gaming. While the Twin Turbo-Fan moves the cool air through the hot components inside and reduces heat.
The side pop-up selfie camera, which debuted on the Lenovo Legion Phone 1, has been carried over with new features. It has a 44MP ultrawide 84-degree field of view with autofocus and improved low-light performance. AI-enhanced features like real-time background overlays, filters, and animated avatars are supported. The four AI-optimized noise-canceling microphones provide better streaming quality audio even in loud environments.
The Octa-Trigger Controls for gaming has Dual HaptiX – Dual X-Axis Haptic Vibration Linear Motors that gives a console controller-like experience when gaming. It has four ultrasonic shoulder keys, two rear capacitance screen touchpoints, and two in-display force touchpoints.
Inside is a 5500mAh battery that is split into two 2750mAh and is positioned on either side of the phone. It supports 90W Turbo Charge via the dual USB Type-C port and can give a full charge in just 30 minutes. It also supports pass-through charging where the current goes directly to the motherboard and powers the phone continuously without damaging the battery while gaming.

The Lenovo LEGION Phone Duel 2 is will be available for purchase at official Lenovo LEGION stores, Lenovo authorized resellers nationwide, and Lenovo LEGION Flagship Store at Lazada. It is priced at PHP 39,995 for the 12GB RAM+256GB internal storage and PHP 49,995 for the 16GB RAM+512GB internal storage. It is available in two colors: Ultimate Black and Titanium White. However, the latter will be available at a later date.
Lenovo is holding a pre-order from June 18-30, 2021. Those who will pre-order get a free Lenovo HD100 Bluetooth Headset and limited-edition LEGION Pilipinas jacket worth PHP 5,990.
Lenovo has also partnered with Globe Telecom to offer the LEGION Phone Duel 2 at Globe’s G Plan with a cash-out as low as PHP 12,195 (G Plan 2499). Soon, buyers could also purchase the LEGION Phone Duel 2 via HOME CREDIT with a cash-out as low as PHP 1,849 (18 months, 12GB+256GB, with 30% downpayment).
