WalasTech has learned from several sources that Automatic Centre, the oldest appliance retailer in the country, is set to relaunch its stores this holiday season.
Several changes to Automatic Centre’s social media channels have been noticed, including an update to their 73-year-old logo, foregoing scripts for a handwritten font.
Several brands are also starting to hire personnel to be stationed in Automatic Centre stores. Prestiz, one of the store’s anchor brands, has revealed the locations where they will initially relaunch, including Trinoma, Festival Mall, Eastwood, and Glorietta 1.
These stores are officially reopening today, November 30, and you can now visit these stores according to Automatic Centre’s official Facebook page:
- Automatic Centre Alimall – 0939-9133620
- Automatic Centre Eastwood – 0939-9155338

Not all stores to relaunch
In this new Automatic Centre, changes are coming and the logo was just the start. We’ve heard from several sources that the brand was acquired by another appliance retail giant and that not all stores will be relaunched as other branch locations have been given to other affiliates. For example, their store in Market Market will be refitted into a Sogo Home and Office store, a part of the brands under BLIMS Fine Furniture.
We’ve visited the brand’s head office in Mandaluyong this past weekend, and it is now slowly being repurposed into a Waltermart warehouse/office with a click and collect window for online orders.
There are no updates yet if the newly-reopened Automatic Centre stores are here to stay or will be converted into the acquiring retail giant’s stores, but we’ll keep an eye on them soon.
