GMA Network isn’t done yet with its string of TV-related releases this year as it plans to release GMA NOW, its own version of a mobile Digital TV dongle.
With the dongle, you can access GMA’s channels including GMA News TV, GMA Heart of Asia, and HallyPop, as well as other free-to-air channels available in your area. There’s also a feature in the accompanying app to watch GMA Network videos on demand, as well as chat with your family, friends, and Kapuso artists through a brewing Groupee chat feature.
Similar to other Digital TV dongles and TV boxes out there, this is limited in signal availability — GMA notes that this is operational within portions of Metro Manila, Rizal, Bulacan, Pampanga, Cavite, Laguna, Baguio City, Pangasinan, Batangas, Metro Cebu, and Metro Davao.
The listing was first discovered by the folks from DTV Pilipinas on GMA Network’s official Shopee account, where the item will be sold with a PHP 649 price tag. The default port is a MicroUSB, but there will also be a MicroUSB to USB Type-C adapter included in the package for those who own phones with the reversible connection.
