TECNO Mobile announces its new Memory Fusion Technology that increases the RAM capacity of their smartphones for optimal efficiency and processing power. This feature will be available in the TECNO CAMON 18 series and SPARK 8 series.
Memory Fusion Technology or virtual Random Access Memory (RAM) expansion technology works by utilizing the unused read-only memory (ROM) or internal storage and channeling it for RAM operations. For example, an 8GB + 128GB smartphone can be optimized to 13GB + 128GB by allocating more internal storage to the RAM. As a result, the device can increase the number of active applications running in the background, have a more time-efficient warm reboot process, and have a shorter load time for frequently and recently used applications compared to smartphones without Memory Fusion Technology.

On TECNO’s smartphones that have 8GB + 128GB configuration, it will allow for up to 5GB increase of RAM thanks to Memory Fusion. The devices saw an 81% (up to 20 apps) increase in actively running applications, a 122% increase in warm reboot speed, and a 61% improvement in the time it takes to load frequently used applications.
To activate Memory Fusion, just go to Settings, choose Memory Fusion, and select the preferred expansion capacity. RAM expansion allows up to 5GB and varies across different TECNO Mobile smartphones.
Memory Fusion Technology will be available to CAMON 18 series and SPARK 8 series from December 2021 following a software update notification.
