Honor of Kings adds new Heroes, Flowborn Classes, and 3-minute battle royale mode

Honor of Kings is rolling out its latest major update, Flow As One, bringing together all five Flowborn Classes, introducing new Hero Wang Wei, launching the Honor Royale 2v2v2v2 battle royale mode, and adding new ranking systems for players.

EN 2 1

Why it matters: The update expands Honor of Kings beyond its traditional 5v5 MOBA format with a faster three-minute PvP mode, while adding new progression systems and gameplay options for ranked players.

The update also arrives ahead of the 2026 Asian Games, where Honor of Kings will return as an official esports event from September 27 to 28.

The details: The Flow As One update brings new Flowborn options to the game, completing all five Flowborn Classes. The Flowborn Assassin and Flowborn Roamer are available for free starting September 23.

A new Mid-lane Hero, Wang Wei, will be added on October 8. He can be obtained for 13,888 Gold or 588 Vouchers, with a 50% discount on Vouchers during his first week.

The update also introduces Honor Royale Beta, a new battle royale-style mode built around four teams of two players. Each match is limited to three minutes, with teams spawning at different corners of the map and fighting until only one team remains.

The battlefield gradually shrinks toward the center, with players outside the Safe Zone losing Health. Players can also defeat monsters and open chests to obtain Runes. These instantly upgrade characters while restoring Health and Energy and improving their stats.

Downed players drop two Runes and can respawn beside a surviving teammate after 10 seconds. A team is only eliminated after both players have been defeated.

At the 90-second mark, Caesar appears in the center of the map. Defeating Caesar provides a shield and adds a lightning effect to attacks. Random events can also occur during each match, giving individual rounds different gameplay conditions.

A new Summoner Skill called Flow State is also being introduced. With a 100-second cooldown, Flow State instantly halves the cooldown of all skills and summons a Flowborn weapon based on the Hero’s primary role.

EN 4 1

Support Heroes summon the Flow Guqin, which heals the first allied Hero and damages the first enemy in range before returning to heal the caster for the same amount.

Mages summon the Flow Artifact, which deals sustained magic damage and slows the target by 30% for two seconds.

Tanks and Warriors summon the Flow Shield, which deals physical damage and knocks up nearby enemies for 0.5 seconds.

Marksmen summon the Flow Crossbow, which deals physical damage three times, with the first hit knocking the target back.

Assassins summon the Flow Claws, allowing them to dash toward a target while dealing true damage equal to 16% of the target’s missing HP, along with physical damage to enemies along the path.

Two new ranking systems are also arriving with the update: Path to Honor and Weekly Hero Challenge. Path to Honor is available to players starting at the Grandmaster tier, from 10 to 50 stars. Players unlock a new prestige reward for every 10 stars earned.

Weekly Hero Challenge generates three random missions each week, with varying difficulty levels. Players must use the assigned Hero in ranked matches to complete the missions and earn bonus tier points alongside standard ranked rewards.

Higher-difficulty missions require players to win their matches to receive the rewards.

The bigger picture: Honor of Kings will return as an official esports event at the 2026 Asian Games from September 27 to 28. This marks the second consecutive Asian Games to feature Honor of Kings as an official esports title.

EN 5 1

The competition will feature national teams from 10 countries and regions, competing on a dedicated Asian Games build with a roster of 85 Heroes.

The tournament will have a Group Stage featuring best-of-three round-robin matches, followed by a best-of-three single-elimination Knockout Stage. The Grand Final will use a best-of-seven format.

For players: Honor of Kings is also running several in-game events around the Asian Games. The Asian Games Main Event runs from September 23 to 28. Players can collect national team card sets to unlock rewards including a Sticker, Avatar Frame, and Title. Asian Games-themed skins will also be available through in-game tasks and direct purchase.

From September 25 to 29, players can participate in the Voice Pack Claim Event by completing matches to claim a free community-created voice pack. Each region’s top line will be voiced by local artists and influencers.

What’s next: The Flow As One update is now rolling out, with the Flowborn Assassin and Roamer, Flow State, Honor Royale Beta, and new ranking systems available from September 23. Wang Wei will follow on October 8, while the 2026 Asian Games Honor of Kings competition takes place on September 27 and 28.

The Bottom Line: The latest Honor of Kings update expands the game’s core MOBA experience with new Hero and class options while adding a shorter battle royale format, new progression systems, and a major esports event at the 2026 Asian Games.
