Philips Evnia launches M4 gaming monitors with Triple-Mode display technology

Philips Evnia has introduced its new M4 gaming monitor lineup, bringing Triple-Mode display technology to gamers in the Asia-Pacific region. The new lineup consists of the Philips Evnia 27M4N3500PT and 27M4N5500PT, both featuring Fast IPS panels and three selectable combinations of resolution and refresh rate that let users switch between visual quality and competitive performance depending on the game.

Why it Matters: Modern PC gamers often have to choose between high-resolution visuals for story-driven games and ultra-high refresh rates for esports titles. Philips Evnia’s Triple-Mode technology aims to eliminate that compromise by allowing users to switch between three display presets without manually adjusting graphics settings or display configurations.

The details: The flagship feature of the new M4 series is its Triple-Mode display system. In Quad HD (2560 × 1440) mode, the monitors support up to a 275Hz overclocked refresh rate with HDR enabled, making them suitable for visually demanding AAA games while maintaining smooth gameplay.

For competitive esports players, users can switch to HD (1280 × 720) resolution to unlock an overclocked 540Hz refresh rate. This mode is designed to reduce input latency and provide faster on-screen response during fast-paced matches.

Positioned between the two is a Full HD (1920 × 1080) mode that operates at up to 360Hz. Philips says this setting offers a balance between image quality and competitive gaming performance, filling the gap left by conventional dual-mode gaming monitors.

Switching between the three display modes can be done directly through the monitor’s on-screen display menu without requiring users to change settings within Windows or individual games.

Beyond its display modes, the Philips Evnia M4 series also includes several gaming-focused features. Both monitors use Fast IPS panels with an anti-glare coating, support up to 350 nits of peak brightness, and include HDR support for improved contrast and color reproduction in compatible content.

The monitors also feature AI-assisted gaming tools such as Shadow Boost for improving visibility in dark scenes, Smart Crosshair, Smart Sniper, and Smart MBR Sync to help enhance gameplay across different genres.

Connectivity options include HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4, making the monitors compatible with modern gaming PCs and current-generation gaming hardware.

The Philips Evnia 27M4N5500PT adds several ergonomic and design enhancements. It comes with the SmartErgoBase stand, allowing users to adjust height, tilt, swivel, and rotate the display into portrait orientation. These features make it suitable for multi-monitor gaming or productivity setups.

The higher-end model also introduces Evnia AI Gaming IconGlow lighting, while its redesigned stand features a minimalist geometric appearance intended to complement modern gaming desks.

Eye comfort also remains a focus of the M4 lineup. Philips has equipped both monitors with Low Blue Light and Flicker-Free technologies alongside the Fast IPS panel to help reduce eye strain during extended gaming sessions.

The new Philips Evnia 27M4N3500PT and 27M4N5500PT combine flexible display modes, high refresh rates, ergonomic features, and gaming-focused enhancements into a single lineup targeted at players who regularly switch between immersive single-player games and competitive esports titles.

The bigger picture: Gaming monitors continue to push refresh rates beyond 500Hz while adding more flexible display options. Instead of focusing solely on maximum refresh rate or maximum resolution, manufacturers are increasingly designing monitors that can adapt to different gaming styles through multiple operating modes.

Between the lines: Triple-mode monitors could appeal to gamers who want one display for both competitive gaming and content-rich AAA titles, removing the need to choose between high resolution and maximum frame rates when buying a monitor.

For Filipinos: While Philips has confirmed that the new M4 lineup will launch in the Asia-Pacific region, local pricing, Philippine availability, and release dates have yet to be announced.

What’s next: More details, including regional pricing and retail availability, are expected as Philips begins rolling out the M4 series across APAC markets.

The Bottom Line: Philips Evnia’s new M4 gaming monitors bring a flexible approach to gaming displays by combining three refresh rate and resolution presets into a single monitor. With support for up to 540Hz, Fast IPS panels, HDMI 2.1 connectivity, and ergonomic features, the lineup is designed to serve both competitive and immersive gaming without requiring users to own multiple displays.
