vivo has introduced the vivo V80, a new V series smartphone featuring a 7,200mAh battery, ZEISS-powered portrait photography, and front and rear video recording at 4K 60fps. The device also introduces a redesigned glass construction and OriginOS 7, which brings AI-powered productivity tools, expanded personalization, and cross-device connectivity.

The vivo V80 is set for a gradual release across India, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and other markets. Philippine pricing, availability, and final local specifications have not yet been announced in the supplied release.
Why it matters: The vivo V80 combines a large battery with dedicated telephoto hardware and advanced portrait features, targeting users who prioritize photography, video creation, and extended battery life. Its OriginOS 7 software also introduces productivity tools and connectivity features designed to work across vivo, Android, and Apple devices.
The details: The vivo V80 features a 50MP ZEISS Super Telephoto Camera with 3x optical zoom and up to 10x digital zoom. It uses a 1/1.95-inch Sony IMX882 sensor and optical image stabilization to help preserve detail and reduce blur, including in low-light conditions.
For portraits, ZEISS 100mm Center-Stage Portrait uses Planar Style Bokeh and a low-saturation platinum tone to keep attention on the subject. ZEISS 85mm Portrait offers a wider composition with Sonnar Style Bokeh and cinematic warm-cool tones, while CCD Flash Portrait uses a flash effect inspired by classic CCD cameras.
The main camera is a 50MP ZEISS OIS unit with a 1/1.56-inch Sony LYTIA 700V sensor. On the front, a 50MP ZEISS Group Selfie Camera combines a wide-angle lens with autofocus. AI Best Face can also help users select a better expression from frames captured in a Live Photo.

Both front and rear cameras support 4K video recording at 60fps. Additional creative tools include AI Creative Camera, which offers Glow, Sunlight, and Top Lighting effects, and a Color Palette tool for adjusting saturation and contrast. AI Erase removes unwanted objects or reflections, AI Magic Move repositions subjects, and AI Image Expander extends image composition.

The bigger picture: The vivo V80’s design uses what vivo calls Flagship One-Piece Cold-Carved Glass, shaping the back and camera area from a unified piece of glass. The design creates a seamless transition around the Floating Camera Module, while the company says cold carving makes the glass stronger than traditional hot-bent glass.
The phone comes in Starwish Purple, Wander Green, Sunrise Anthem, and Vast Gray. Starwish Purple uses Laser Holographic Lithography, which vivo says was developed over two years and uses nanoscale lithography to create a three-dimensional stellar pattern from 3,600 4K images.
Durability features include an aerospace-grade metal frame, reinforced front and rear glass, and SGS Overall Unit Drop Resistance Certification. The device also carries IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance ratings.
Between the lines: The 7,200mAh BlueVolt battery is one of the phone’s main hardware features. It uses fourth-generation silicon-anode technology, while 90W FlashCharge is claimed to bring the battery to 50% in 30 minutes. Multi-Scenario Bypass Charging is designed to manage heat during demanding activities such as gaming and video streaming.
The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7-series processor, although the supplied announcement does not specify the exact chipset model. vivo also lists 8GB of physical RAM with up to 16GB of extended RAM.
Its display features a 1.5K resolution, a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, and local peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits. It supports 1.07 billion colors and a minimum brightness of 1 nit for viewing in darker environments. Dual stereo speakers, gaming-focused audio features, and signal-boosting technology round out the entertainment features.
For Filipinos: vivo has identified Southeast Asia as one of the regions where the V80 will gradually become available, what we only know so far is the device will be coming soon.

The phone’s camera system may appeal to mobile photographers and content creators, while the large battery and high-refresh-rate display target users who spend extended periods watching videos, gaming, or using their devices throughout the day. Its actual value in the Philippines will depend on local pricing, memory configurations, and the final specifications offered in the market.
What’s next: The vivo V80 will roll out gradually in selected markets. vivo Philippines has started teasing the arrival of the product in a starry purple colorway, alongside ‘New Friends’ that will be the new V series ambassadors: Jake, Jungwon, and Sunghoon from Korean pop boy group ENHYPEN.
The Bottom Line: The vivo V80 combines a 7,200mAh battery, a 50MP ZEISS telephoto camera, 4K 60fps video recording, and a 144Hz display with OriginOS 7’s AI and productivity features. Its local prospects will become clearer once vivo confirms Philippine availability and pricing.
