Riot Games Philippines has announced the second season of Wild Rounds: Pilipinas, the grassroots tournament for League of Legends: Wild Rift, its mobile 5v5 MOBA game. This year’s tournament will run from the second to the fourth quarter of 2025, featuring a bigger prize pool of PHP 1.5 million.
Why it matters: The return of Wild Rounds: Pilipinas reflects Riot PH’s continued efforts to grow the local esports scene by supporting amateur players, regional tournaments, and community activities across the country.
First introduced in 2024, Wild Rounds: Pilipinas Open serves as Riot’s main grassroots program for Wild Rift in the Philippines. For 2025, Riot PH said it aims to bring the game closer to Filipino players and align local events with its global calendar and updates.
Aside from the main tournament, Riot is also rolling out several community activities under the Wild Rounds Circuit:
- Wild Rift Wednesdays, a weekly play session with streamers and fans, began in April and continues throughout the year.
- Ground Zero Tournament, which will organize grassroots and amateur events nationwide starting May until October, aims to discover talent from local communities.
Registration for Wild Rounds: Pilipinas Open 2025 begins this May. Here’s the tournament schedule for Split 1:
- Bracket draw: June 9 (to be posted on June 10)
- Group Stage:
- Groups A & B: June 14–15
- Groups C & D: June 21–22
- Top 16 bracket reveal: June 25
- Top 16 matches: June 28
- Top 8 matches: June 29
- Live Finals: July 5
Details for Splits 2 and 3 will be announced in the coming months.
Riot is also bringing back Wild Rounds: Smash, an invitational tournament featuring popular Filipino pro teams and influencers. This year’s edition will include new tournament mechanics and international matchups.
To celebrate the fifth anniversary of Wild Rift in the Philippines, Riot will hold in-game events and giveaways in October. These will include rewards and surprise content for both longtime and new players.
