Infinix HOT 70 now official: Color-changing design, AI features, and Durability Focus

Infinix has unveiled the HOT 70, a new smartphone lineup that puts design and personalization at the forefront. The new series introduces interactive finishes, AI-powered tools, and durability features aimed at users who want a device that goes beyond the usual hardware upgrades.

The launch also signals a new direction for the HOT series, with Infinix leaning into design expression while keeping practical everyday features in focus. Alongside the standard HOT 70, the company has also previewed a HOT 70 Pro, with more details expected later.

Why it Matters: Budget and midrange smartphones often compete on similar specifications, making differentiation harder for brands. With the HOT 70, Infinix is betting that design, personalization, and AI convenience can be just as important as raw performance for younger users.

The Infinix HOT 70 introduces six color options: Thermo Orange, Quiet Violet, Green Texture, Night Pulse, Silver Dancer, and Dive Blue. Leading the lineup is the Thermo Orange variant, which features a temperature-responsive back panel that changes shades depending on heat exposure. Infinix says the thermochromic finish shifts between deeper and lighter orange tones, while the surface can also hold semi-permanent patterns created with stamps or molds for added personalization.

Quiet Violet and Green Texture models use what Infinix calls Lumina Flare Dynamic Flame Texture, designed to create shifting reflections when light hits the surface at different angles. The phones also feature a Crystal Mood Island camera design, giving the rear camera module a more decorative appearance.

For AI features, the HOT 70 includes a dedicated One-Tap AI Button placed within thumb reach for quick access. A short press activates AI FlashMemo, which can recognize information on screen and turn it into actions such as saving contacts, creating calendar events, or composing emails. Captured content is stored in AI MindHub, a central hub for organizing saved screenshots, notes, and references.

A long press activates Folax AI, which provides access to multiple AI models including ChatGPT and Google Gemini without requiring users to switch apps. Additional AI features include custom wallpaper generation, AI Live Photo Mode, AI Eraser, and AI Extender for photo editing.

The HOT 70 features a 50MP main camera and a 6.78-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 700 nits of high brightness mode output for outdoor use. Under the hood is the MediaTek Helio G100 Ultimate chipset.

Battery capacity is listed at 6000mAh, while select markets may receive a dual-cell 5600mAh version. Charging support goes up to 45W, with bypass charging included to help reduce heat during extended charging sessions.

Durability is another key focus, with the HOT 70 offering IP65 dust and splash resistance, SGS-certified drop protection, and speaker cleaning functionality that uses sonic vibrations to remove dust and moisture. Privacy and security tools include app locking, ad controls, and protection features under the XGuard suite.
