The Philippine Collegiate Championship (PCC) has officially launched its fourth season, setting its sights on a wider national reach as the collegiate esports league expands beyond its traditional coverage.

Why it Matters: Collegiate esports in the Philippines continues to grow beyond campus tournaments, becoming a potential bridge between student communities, professional gaming, and broader digital careers. PCC’s nationwide expansion signals how organized esports programs are becoming more established in the education sector.
Announced during its launch event at the Marco Polo Hotel, PCC Season 4 carries the theme “Siklab ng Puso,” reflecting the organization’s push to grow student esports participation while creating more structured pathways for young Filipino gamers.
One of the biggest changes this season is PCC’s planned expansion into Visayas and Mindanao, with the organization aiming to reach more than 1,000 schools across the country. The league said it wants to combine competition with educational opportunities tied to the gaming industry.
PCC Season 4 will continue to feature Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Call of Duty: Mobile as its main tournament titles, with a third game set to be announced later. The total prize pool for the season stands at PHP 750,000.
The competition remains open to registered student teams nationwide through its Open Cup, Regional, and National Leagues. Champion teams from partner school associations including SCUAA, FESSAP, CESAFI, and the Davao Esports Enthusiast Association will also join the final pool for the Grand Finals, which will take place during Campus Playfest 2026.
Beyond tournaments, PCC said Season 4 will continue to focus on three core pillars: education, leagues, and experiences. Planned initiatives include campus roadshows, esports masterclass sessions, and the Next Gen program, which is expected to involve over 300 student teams.
This year’s Next Gen initiative will introduce a hackathon-style competition format, with winning teams earning a cultural immersion trip to Thailand and attendance at the Thailand Game Show.
Converge ICT Solutions returns as the official presenter for the league, supporting PCC’s nationwide expansion efforts.
The launch also introduced CCEPlay, a community platform designed to support PCC’s activities through digital quests, surveys, event participation tools, raffles, and school-based community engagement features.
The event closed with a fireside discussion featuring gaming industry representatives, touching on grassroots esports sustainability, brand participation in gaming communities, and wider industry issues.
Can nationwide collegiate esports programs like PCC help shape the next generation of Filipino gaming talent beyond competition?
