POCO F9 Pro, F9 Ultra now in the Philippines, Priced

POCO has officially launched the POCO F9 Ultra and POCO F9 Pro in the Philippines, bringing its latest flagship smartphones to the local market with a major focus on high-performance gaming, display technology, audio, and battery life.

The new F9 Series introduces POCO’s latest flagship platforms alongside its new HyperRGB AMOLED displays and a dedicated VisionBoost D8 chipset designed to push supported games to up to 185FPS.

Why it matters: The F9 Series represents POCO’s continued push into the premium flagship market, with the company packing both models with technologies that go beyond raw processing power.

For the first time in the F Series, both smartphones pair their flagship processors with the VisionBoost D8 dedicated graphics chipset, enabling Smart Frame Rate technology at up to 185FPS. POCO says Smart Frame Rate and AI Super Resolution can also operate simultaneously, delivering smoother motion while maintaining sharper visuals.

The company is also expanding its partnership with Bose through Sound by Bose technology, bringing jointly tuned audio to both models.

The details: The POCO F9 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, while both phones benefit from the dedicated VisionBoost D8 chipset and POCO’s WildBoost Engine.

POCO says more than 20 titles can run natively at up to 185FPS, while five additional games can reach the frame rate through Smart Frame Rate.

The gaming experience is further supported by a 4,800Hz instant touch sampling rate, 480Hz 10-point touch sampling rate, and 200Hz gyroscope sampling rate.

Keeping sustained performance in check is POCO’s 3D IceLoop cooling system, designed to maintain stability during demanding gaming sessions.

The F9 Series gets POCO’s new HyperRGB AMOLED displays, with both phones supporting refresh rates of up to 185Hz. The F9 Ultra uses a larger 6.9-inch display, while the F9 Pro gets a more compact 6.59-inch panel.

POCO’s HyperRGB technology uses a full RGB subpixel structure, making use of every red, green, and blue subpixel to produce sharper and more vibrant visuals while consuming less power.

The displays also mark the global debut of the M11 luminescent material, allowing the panels to reach up to 4,500 nits peak brightness across multiple scenarios and up to 10,000 nits for HDR content.

POCO is also putting considerable emphasis on audio with this generation. The POCO F9 Ultra features dual symmetrical 1115D master-grade stereo speakers paired with an ultra-large 1620 independent subwoofer, creating a genuine 2.1-channel audio system.

The F9 Pro takes a different approach, using dual symmetrical 1115F super-linear stereo speakers with a Sealed Cavity Design. POCO says the setup is designed to deliver richer midrange, crisp high frequencies, and detailed sound across the frequency range.

Both models receive two professionally tuned sound profiles: Dynamic, which emphasizes a fuller bass character, and Balanced, which focuses on balanced sound and vocals.

The partnership with Bose also introduces a dedicated Game Audio mode. The mode increases the loudness of footsteps while retaining details from gunfire, voices, and other game effects, helping players identify directional audio cues more easily.

Battery capacity is another major focus of the F9 Series. The F9 Ultra carries an 8,050mAh battery, the largest battery ever featured in the POCO F Series. The battery uses 16% silicon-carbon content and is designed to deliver up to two days of battery life.
