Smart is expanding beyond smartphones and traditional mobile plans with a new push into AI wearables. The telco has announced that it will offer the Rokid AI Glasses in the Philippines, making it the first local telecom provider to bundle AI-powered smart glasses with a postpaid subscription.

Why it Matters: AI is moving beyond phones and computers into wearable devices, and Smart’s partnership with Rokid signals how telcos may start packaging next-generation gadgets alongside traditional connectivity plans. For Filipino consumers, this could mean easier access to emerging AI hardware without needing to buy them outright at full retail price.
Smart says the Rokid AI Glasses will be available at select Smart Stores as both a bundled offer and a standalone purchase.
The new offering starts on May 29, giving both new and existing Smart subscribers access to the wearable through select Smart Postpaid and Infinity plans. The move also introduces broader access to Google Gemini-powered experiences through a hands-free device.
The Smart Rokid bundle is available under Smart Postpaid Plans+ 1499, where subscribers can get the Rokid AI Glasses starting at PHP 28,800 via straight payment. Smart Infinity subscribers on Plan 5000 can get the device at no additional cost as part of their package.
The Smart Postpaid Plans+ 1499 package also includes 40GB of open-access data, unlimited 5G data for 12 months, unlimited all-network calls and texts, and unlimited landline calls. Infinity members also get unlimited data, roaming perks, and concierge-style account support.
The Rokid AI Glasses come with native Google Gemini integration, allowing users to interact with Google’s AI assistant directly through voice commands. Features include real-time language translation, AI search, task management, contextual assistance, and content generation without needing to constantly use a smartphone.

Rokid has also updated the international version of the glasses to support additional AI models, including ChatGPT, DeepSeek, and Qwen, giving users access to multiple AI platforms through one wearable device.
On the hardware side, the wearable includes a built-in 12MP camera for hands-free photo and video capture, along with private audio for media playback and AI interactions. Smart says the glasses weigh 49 grams, making them light enough for extended use.
Smart is positioning the device toward different user groups. Content creators can use the built-in camera for point-of-view recordings, while travelers may benefit from translation and navigation tools. Professionals can also use AI-powered transcription and teleprompter functions for work-related tasks.
Could AI glasses become the next device category Filipinos start considering alongside smartphones?
