Fujifilm announced its newest top-tier mirrorless camera called the Fujifilm X-T4, presenting itself with a plethora of features for casual users and power photographers alike with a touted high performance both in stills and videos.
The camera in itself features a new shutter unit and a large-capacity battery all housed into a compact and lightweight body, keeping the core essentials of an X-series camera intact. It also comes with a 26.1-megapixel X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor and a high-speed image processing engine X-Processor 4 for vivid colors and sceneries you can capture as you remember it.
The X-T4 is also the first model in the X-T Series to feature in-body image stabilization (IBIS), dramatically boosting the potential of the camera for stills and video shooting. It provides 5-axis 6.5 stop image stabilization when used with 18 out of 29 XF / XC lenses. This is made possible with the use of new materials for the base part, the refined layout of the shutter’s shock-absorbing structure, and the newly developed gyro sensors that boast around 8 times the detection accuracy of the IBIS unit in the X-H1.
There’s also a dedicated video mode, activated with a simple switch. The X-T4 is capable of recording Full HD high-speed video at 240P, producing up to 10x slow-motion effect. Combined with the new IBIS function, the camera can also perform a Digital Image Stabilization when recording video. The F-Log View Assist function has been added to correct low-saturation / low-contrast video while recording F-Log.
The camera also has an ultra-fast focal-plane shutter, made possible with a newly-developed high-torque coreless DC motor. Fujifilm touts that the shutter has the capability to shoot up to 15fps in burst mode and has advanced response performance with a shutter release lag of just 0.035 seconds.
This mirrorless device also uses the company’s new “ETERNA Bleach Bypass” Film Simulation mode that uses FUJIFILM’s unique technology to provide versatile color tones. That feature simulates what traditional photography calls the “bleach bypass” technique for silver halide films, creating images with low saturation and high contrast for a special atmosphere.
A new algorithm built within the X-T4 also enhances the phase-detection AF’s processing capability, leading to autofocus performance as fast as 0.02 seconds. Tracking AF and Face/Eye AF features also receive significant upgrades, making it easier and faster than its predecessor.
The Fujifilm X-T4 comes with body-only and kit packages, and additional accessories that you can buy such as a vertical battery grip made especially for the camera, a larger battery, a dual battery charger, a cover kit, and a shoe mount. It will be available starting in the coming months with the following price points: Php96,990 (body only), Php119,990 (kit with 18-55mm lens), and Php126,990 (kit with 16-80mm lens).
