VinFast has confirmed plans to launch its e-scooters in the Philippines by June 2026, alongside a growing retail and service network built through partnerships with local distributors. The move marks the company’s formal entry into one of Southeast Asia’s largest motorcycle markets, where demand for personal mobility remains strong.

Why it Matters: The Philippines relies heavily on motorcycles for daily transport. The entry of more electric options, backed by a wide dealer and service network, could make e-scooters more accessible to everyday users, especially as fuel prices fluctuate and cities look for cleaner transport alternatives.
The Vietnamese electric vehicle maker said it has signed Memoranda of Understanding with 14 motorcycle distributors in the country to support its rollout. These include Wheeltek Motor Sales Corporation, Gentrade International Phils., Inc. (Transcycle), Superbikes Corporation, Motoxpress Sales Corporation, FMN Industrial Corp., Eduhome Enterprise, Inc., Keymotors Incorporated, Motorpro by Abenson Ventures Inc. and Aserco, Moto Atelier Inc., Ciclo Suerte, HG Motorzone, HGC Main Marketing (Motorboy), BLC Cycle Parts Supply, and Auto Ten Trade and Services Corp.
VinFast and its partners plan to open multiple showrooms across key areas such as Metro Manila, Metro Cebu, Metro Davao, Laguna, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, and Bulacan. These locations are expected to go live alongside the product launch to support both sales and after-sales services.
The initial lineup will include battery-swapping e-scooters such as the Evo, Feliz II, and Viper. The company said more models are in development, with some expected to be adjusted for local road conditions and usage patterns.
To support its ecosystem, VinFast is also targeting the rollout of around 30,000 battery-swapping stations nationwide. These stations are intended to provide a faster alternative to traditional charging by allowing riders to swap depleted batteries for fully charged ones.
VinFast said its local partnerships will play a key role in scaling operations quickly, from showroom expansion to after-sales support. With its official launch approaching, the company is positioning its e-scooters as a practical alternative for daily commuting in urban areas.
Ms. Vo Thi Cam Tu, Managing Director of VinFast E-Scooters Overseas Market, said: “Our partnerships with 14 major dealers in the Philippines mark an important step in rapidly establishing a strong distribution and service foundation from the outset. We are not only introducing products tailored to local needs, but also developing an integrated ecosystem, from battery-swapping infrastructure to after-sales services, enabling consumers to access and adopt e-scooters in a convenient, efficient, and sustainable manner.”
The Philippines is part of VinFast’s broader international expansion strategy, which also includes Indonesia, India, Thailand, and Malaysia. The company aims to build a complete electric mobility ecosystem in these markets, covering vehicles, infrastructure, and support services.
Will e-scooters gain traction in the Philippines as more brands enter the market?
